1. Platform role
CareConnect Africa is a technology platform. We do not manufacture, store, package, transport, prescribe, or sell drugs. Pharmacies and doctors listed on the platform are independent entities licensed by their national regulators (PCN, NAFDAC, MDCN, NMCN, and equivalents) and are solely responsible for the goods and services they provide.
2. Pharmacy liability
Pharmacies bear full liability for the authenticity, quality, storage, and labelling of drugs they dispense. Pharmacies indemnify CareConnect Africa against NAFDAC fines, lawsuits, regulatory action, and patient harm arising from fake or substandard drugs traced to their premises. Pharmacies agree to random spot-checks and to immediate delisting if a counterfeit drug is traced to them.
3. NAFDAC verification
Every prescription QR generated on this platform binds a specific drug batch (NAFDAC registration number, GS1 GTIN, batch number, expiry) to a single dispensing event. Always verify the NAFDAC number printed on the physical drug pack matches the number CareConnect Africa shows after scanning. If the numbers do not match, do not use the drug — report it via the in-app "Report Problem" button.
4. Doctor liability
Doctors are licensed by their national medical councils. CareConnect Africa does not permit cross-border practice. Doctors only provide services in countries where they hold valid medical licenses on file with the platform.
5. Reporting fakes
Suspected counterfeit drugs can be reported from the QR scan-result screen, including optional photo evidence. Reports are forwarded to NAFDAC's Med-Safety Alert team. Pharmacies that accumulate three or more failed scans are automatically hidden from search pending an admin audit.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareConnect Africa is not liable for damages arising from products dispensed by independent pharmacies or services rendered by independent doctors.
